Event Overview

Digital Wellness Day is a virtual statewide event, co-hosted by WSWHE BOCES and Take Action Global. This event provides a platform for New York’s PreK-12 students to share their innovative projects and initiatives focused on digital wellness and sustainability. It is designed to foster peer-to-peer learning and inspire positive change across the state.

Why It Matters

In today’s interconnected world, the health of our students and our planet are inextricably linked. This event explores the critical intersection of technology use and environmental stewardship. By promoting balanced tech habits and sustainable practices, we are building healthier, more resilient schools and communities. We will cover topics such as tech habits, cybersecurity, social media, AI use, cyberbullying, school sustainability, and student stories.

Event Details

Join us on April 9, 2025, from 9:00AM to 12:30PM EST for the New York State Digital Wellness Day. This virtual event will be hosted on YouTube Live and is open to PreK-12 students, teachers, families, and community members. The format will consist of student presentations, Q&A sessions, and an interactive LEGO experience. The event is co-hosted by Take Action Global and WSWHE BOCES.

New York State is committed to fostering Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and digital wellness, addressing the challenges of technology addiction. This statewide student showcase provides a platform for K-12 students to share their success stories, demonstrating both low-tech/no-tech engagement and healthy uses of technology. The event features 10 diverse classroom presentations, highlighting innovative digital wellness initiatives from across New York. This event also showcases the importance of using technology to better the environment.
