Take Away from Climate Action Day 2025
“Every rock has a story” is both a message and a Youtube channel by geoscientist Dr. Ethan Baxter, featured speaker on Climate Action Day 2025. No rock has a better story to tell than the third stone from the Sun. From its lifeless, primordial beginnings to the diverse biosphere of today, the one constant on planet Earth is change. Ecological and environmental change is the driving force behind the evolution of not only life, but the planet itself. Throughout time, this change has been gradual and natural, allowing for nature to adjust accordingly.
However, the most recent species to evolve on Earth, has evolved the ability to manipulate the environment, thus accelerating environmental change to the point where nature can not keep up. One of the most impactful environmental changes has been to Earth’s climate.
Take Action Global’s goal is to empower students and communities to take action for the climate and the future. Climate Action Day 2025 featured Change Makers from around the globe. The story they tell is one of inspiration and hope.
Sunita Narain, Director General at the Centre for Science and Environment, perhaps described the TAG’s mission best stating, “We become the change we want to see in the world”
Everyone can be a part of this change. “Small practical actions matter” notes Anu Bazarragchaa, a PhD student in Mongolia.
Each individual action contributes to a collective whole. By taking action locally, we can make a big impact globally to be part of the story’s next chapter.
