Climate Action School Spotlight: Understanding Responsible Consumption

Students embark on a transformative journey that expands beyond their classrooms at Instituto Infantil y Juvenil—spreading climate action knowledge and awareness. Since joining the Climate Action Project in 2019, this Colombian school has nurtured a sense of environmental responsibility and empowered their students to become catalysts for change—all with the lead of their teacher, Giovanni Baquero Guevara.

Climate Action School Spotlight: Plastic Waste Awareness

India has one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. Also in India is a school with wonderful students passionate about climate action. Delhi Public School, located in Nagpur, India, has been an active member of the Climate Action Project since 2021. Twenty-five students aged 12-13 years old have been working on raising awareness about climate change and finding solutions to combat it, and they are led by a teacher at their school, Shahnaaz Ojha.

Climate Awareness: New Jersey School Districts Taking Action

In 2020, the state of New Jersey became the first U.S. state to mandate climate education for all across K-12 content areas and grade levels. This past spring, districts across the state took the lead in implementation by joining together with Take Action Global for the 2023 Climate Awareness Program, a six-week community-based program that ran from April through June 2023.
